Derby delight against AC Milan
It all began so positively for the Nerazzurri last season, with Mancini's men rising to the top of the table after making a quick start which saw them win their first five games. That run included a victory over their city rivals, with Fredy Guarin scoring the winning goal just before the hour mark to secure all three points for his side and help set the tone for Inter's early march.
Anger with Icardi
After such a strong start, it all seemed to get derailed after the winter break with Inter losing their momentum and in turn were beginning to fall down the standings. Following a frustrating draw with Carpi, Mancini had this to say about his strikers: "We're creating the chances, but we need to be more intelligent in the way we deal with them and finish them off, otherwise it becomes a problem. I'm 50 years old, and even I would have scored from some of the chances we had."
Spat with Sarri
A few days prior to the Carpi draw, Mancini was involved in an unsavoury incident with Napoli boss Sarri that made headlines around Europe. The Inter coach branded his rival a homophobe after being the target of his insults on the touchline, in an ugly incident that he would undoubtedly have preferred not to have been involved in.Fury after derby humiliation
Mancini's mood didn't improve after that as a heavy 3-0 defeat to the Rossoneri followed at the end of January, leaving him incensed with not only his team's performance but also that of the referee.
Disastrous end
Mancini's last game in charge was the International Champions Cup encounter with Spurs, and it ended in less than impressive fashion in a 6-1 loss. Off-the-pitch distractions may well have played their part, but there were no excuses for the second-half capitulation which ultimately proceeded the decision to replace Mancini by just a few days and as a result he now faces a tough decision about his future while Inter need a new coach with just two weeks to go before the start of the new campaign. The post Mancini’s most memorable Inter moments appeared first on GazzettaWorld.
