Santon Inter

Once considered to be one of the most promising talents in Italian football, the career of Inter defender Davide Santon is at a low point now that three medicals during the summer have been unsuccessful. A player expected to achieve greatness when he made his Biscione debut under coach Jose Mourinho in 2009, Santon has not been able to realise his potential and his right knee has been halting his progress. It was in a Coppa Italia encounter against Roma that the then 18-year-old made his competitive debut for Inter and then he started earning plaudits after he managed to contain Cristiano Ronaldo in a Champions League fixture soon after. GWG predictor In June 2009, he made his debut for Italy under Marcello Lippi, but in November that year, he injured his right knee playing for the Italy U-21 side and he was not able to play a starring role in Inter's treble-winning team. Unfortunately he struggled to recapture the form from those promising performances and he was then sent on loan to Cesena for the second half of the 2010/11 season. After that spell, he was bought by Newcastle United in the summer of 2011 and spent three-and-a-half seasons in England. Davide Santon Santon returned to Inter in January 2015 but he has battle with form and injury issues since then and the club have been trying to place him on the transfer market this summer. At the start of July, he was meant to go for a medical at Sunderland, but he did not want to go to a club at risk of relegation from the Premier League so the examination was cancelled. On July 16, the 25-year-old remained in Italy while the rest of the Inter squad flew out for their tour of the United States. Napoli had agreed to sign him for €4 million plus bonuses MRI scans showed that his knee was not in great condition. Santon FC Internazionale Training Camp - Day Eight Afterwards West Ham had agreed to sign Santon for a loan worth €500,000 with an option to buy him outright for €6m but after the medicals were conducted in two sessions, the result were once again unsuccessful for the player. Inter currently have five full-backs in their squad and due to his injury problems, he will be off their list of players for Serie A and Europa League. With his right knee remaining troublesome, it is hard to see if Santon can ever build on that early promise.
